To give you a digital lens as sharp as van Leeuwenhoek's microscope, we have completely re-engineered how GemReader handles inline illustrations. You no longer have to squint at small, embedded graphics or struggle with rigid layouts that cut off the edges of an image.
We have introduced a dedicated, interactive image workspace directly into the reading layout engine. If you encounter an image, map, or diagram while reading an .epub file, you don't have to accept a compromised view.
Simply tap directly on any image inside your book.
The moment your finger makes contact, the text cleanly recedes into the background, and the image is brought into exclusive, borderless focus on your display. From there, full touch gestures are unlocked. You can pinch-to-zoom to scale the image up to its maximum resolution, and slide your finger to pan smoothly across the canvas. Whether you are tracing the boundary lines of an ancient empire on a historical map or analyzing the labels on a complex data flow chart, the hidden details are completely laid bare.
When you are finished exploring the fine details and are ready to jump back into the text, simply tap the 'X' icon located in the top-right corner of the screen. The viewer dismisses instantly, returning you right to the exact sentence where you left off with your reading rhythm completely unbroken.
